After over five years of operation, this site will be closing on December 31, 2008. I do not have the financial resources, nor the time to adequately monitor and maintain it. WillowsHospital.org was created before YouTube, Flickr, Blogger and other free online services. The information contained here is valuable and I will preserve it using these services. The final locations of the images, documents and stories will be listed on an information page which I will maintain for the foreseeable future.
Thank you all for adding your voice to this space and assisting everyone achieve a more complete life-story.

Found My Birth FatherSubmitted by Skippy on 15 December, 2008 - 4:03am.
After 15 years of active searching, I finally found my birth father! He called me this past Friday evening. We've talked for many hours since that first, exciting conversation. I've even spoken with my half-brother. ( categories: )

One Adoptee's SearchSubmitted by Skippy on 26 November, 2007 - 5:53pm.
Search from AwedJob on Vimeo. I recorded this audio commentary in September, 2004. It details my life long search for my first mother, my biological mother. I dusted it off for Ze's Story Project and created a short video introduction for it yesterday. This little audio project was a big step towards creating my first documentary film, Building at a Crossroads. The thumbnail for this video is a photo of the vacant lot where the Willows Hospital used to be. It was taken in 1984 by Judee Rasmussen, fifteen years after the Willows closed. Today there's a hotel on the site. ( categories: )
